Purpose: Drafting. Allows players to participate in real-time drafts, using sanctioned methods such as Booster and Rochester. After the draft is finished, it allows for the deck to be saved for play in Apprentice, MWS, and others. Often used in online draft tournaments.

Purpose: Card search, deck creation, and game play. Allows either single-player games with no opponent, or direct connection to another player via internet/lan for a 2-player game. Often used in online tournaments.


Magic Workstation (MWS)

OCTGN (Online Card- and Tabletop Games Network) (Octagon)

Purpose: Card search, deck creation, and game play. Allows either single-player games with no opponent, two-player connections, and multiplayer (3+) connection. Also has built in draft and sealed games. Often used in online tournaments, including leagues supported by OCTGN’s creators.
Comment: OCTGN is currently in beta mode, and for patches, etc, you should ask for help in their IRC Chatroom and/or join their forums and become a BetaTester.


Magic Set Editor (MSE)

Purpose: Allows for the creation of custom card sets. Includes the ability to render custom Magic card images in nearly all printed styles, and several custom styles. Is capable of providing automatic keywords, statistical outputs, and random booster packs for sets being created. Features support for 10 languages, and 28 games. Allows sets to be exported to MWS, Apprentice, LackeyCCG, HTML, and text.
