Price spikes continue unabated in the Magic: The Gathering market, driven by both collector and player demand. Let's analyze all the major surges of the past few weeks.
For prices, I will primarily refer to CardTrader. For cards valued at €50 or more, I will use the minimum price between CardTrader and Cardmarket.
Prismatic Lace (Mirage, Reserved List) has risen from approximately €1.50 to €10. The reason is its synergy in Commander with Mondo Gecko from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and with Sisay, Weatherlight Captain.
Earthcraft (Tempest, Reserved List) has climbed from around €100 to €130 on Cardmarket and up to about €180 on CardTrader. The reason is its synergy in Commander with The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl from Marvel Super Heroes: with at least four Squirrels on the battlefield, the two cards allow for the generation of an infinite number of Squirrel tokens and mana. Loki, God of Mischief has gone from approximately €1 to about €10. The card is performing well in Modern and is also being tested in Legacy and Standard. Furthermore, being a God makes it an interesting addition in Commander to decks featuring Atreus, Impulsive Son and Kratos, Stoic Father. [See Forum]
Crossover Collaboration, still in presale on CardTrader due to delays in the distribution of Marvel Super Heroes Commander decks, has risen from approximately €0.30 to €3. The available stock is almost depleted compared to a few weeks ago. On Magic Online, it has even reached 13 Tix. The reason is Pauper, where the card is finding a place in Ruby Storm lists.
Stronghold Gambit (Nemesis) has increased from approximately €1.50 to about €15. Recently, it has appeared more frequently in Reanimator sideboards in Legacy, achieving several Top 8 finishes and even contributing to a Challenge win on MTGO on June 28th. The card also occasionally finds a spot in Reanimator sideboards in Premodern. [See Forum]
The Fantasticar has jumped from around €10 to about €40. The card has made a strong entry into the Legacy and Vintage formats. I believe the anticipation for the European Legacy Masters 2026, a prestigious Legacy tournament scheduled for July 12th in Belgium, is contributing to further increase interest in this card, with many players trying to acquire it before the event. Ahead of The Hobbit (August 2026), enthusiasm surrounding The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth seems unstoppable. Several Poster Cards have indeed seen new increases.

If that player doesn't, you mill X cards, where X is the number of influence counters on Palantír of Orthanc, and that player loses life equal to the total mana value of those cards.

Whenever you draw a card during an opponent's turn, create a 1/1 blue Tentacle creature token.
Whenever a Tentacle you control dies, untap up to one target Kraken and put a stun counter on up to one target nonland permanent.

At the beginning of your end step, remove a hope counter from this enchantment. If you do, draw a card. Then if this enchantment has no hope counters on it, sacrifice it and you gain 4 life.

Collector Boxes
Several sealed English-language Collector products are also increasing in price, almost all featuring serialized cards (with one exception).
- The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Special Edition Collector Booster Box: from about €5,000 to about €9,000.
- The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Collector Booster Box: from about €1,000 to about €1,800.
- The Brothers' War Collector Booster Box: from about €500 to about €750.
- March of the Machine Collector Booster Box: from about €400 to about €700.
- Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY Collector Booster Box: from about €900 to about €1,000.
- Ravnica Remastered Collector Booster Box: from about €800 to about €1,000.
- The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Collector Booster Box: from about €700 to about €800. At this price, very few boxes remain available. This product is the only exception on the list, as it does not contain serialized cards. However, it is possible to find two categories of extremely rare cards within it: Neon Ink cards and cards from the Jurassic World Collection.
