Hello everyone, Magic players! I'm Cristian Albertini, and today I want to talk about the Destination Qualifier Modern event hosted by MOLE, held in Bologna.
Events of this kind always deliver special emotions: the joy of seeing old friends, the rising tension before sitting down at the table, and the wonder of seeing so many people united by the same passion.
The weekend was made even richer by the presence of the European Magic Cup (EUL) and the Premodern Series, which attracted players from 22 different nations. Top-tier names such as Togores, RespectTheCat, TrueHero, and many other competitive scene protagonists were seen among the tables.
Beyond the purely gaming aspect, what was most striking was the dedication of all the figures involved in the organization. The event management proved to be solid and punctual, thanks to an extremely prepared staff.
Special thanks go to Head Judge Davide Succi, supported by Floor Judges Jacopo Strati and Luca Farbene, who, thanks to their competence and firmness, effortlessly managed both the Team Trio Top 8 and the 128 players of the Destination Qualifier.
Crucial also was the contribution of the MOLE staff, led by the unstoppable Francesco Guidorizzi, whose passion involved hundreds of people, keeping the entire organizational machine cohesive.
There were also sellers present on site — Dragon Trading, Street Bazar, and Pot of Demons — an essential presence for many players. Alongside them, highly talented artists like Ballesteros, creator of the incredible official EMC playmat, along with Florinda and MarieAlters, who enriched the event with their creations.
Events like this remind us why Magic, beyond individual games and results, remains first and foremost a passion capable of uniting people, creating bonds, and delivering experiences that go beyond the game table. Bologna offered yet another demonstration of how vibrant, present, and ready the community is to gather whenever the cards start to shuffle.
The meta evolves, the cards change, the passion remains.
