Edge of Eternities: Stellar Sights (EOS), the latest main expansion for Magic: The Gathering, officially launched on August 1, 2025. This set, comprising 180 cards, further explores the expansive world of Edge of Eternities, delivering new tools for various Constructed formats.
The set introduces several new mechanics and revisits a familiar one, shaping its gameplay. Cards with **Prepare** are creatures that come with a "preparable" spell, allowing a copy of that spell to be cast from exile when the creature becomes prepared. The ability word **Taunt** highlights triggered abilities that activate whenever you cast an instant or sorcery targeting a creature. Similarly, **Opus** abilities trigger when you cast an instant or sorcery, often gaining an additional effect if five or more mana was spent. **Infusion** abilities consider whether you have gained life during the current turn. The keyword **Flashback** returns, enabling instant and sorcery spells to be cast from the graveyard for an alternative cost before being exiled. Creatures with **Augment** gain a +1/+1 counter whenever you cast a spell for which you spent more mana than the creature's current power or toughness. **Paradigm** is a new keyword on sorceries that allows them to be exiled after their first resolution, then copied and cast for free at the beginning of your first main phase each turn. The reprinted ability word **Converge** rewards players for spending mana of multiple colors to cast spells. Finally, a new artifact subtype, Book, debuts. These mechanics collectively enable diverse strategies, from creature-based aggro and midrange to spell-focused tempo and value-driven control builds.
